Our Mission
Our mission at Bracebridge Heath Pre-school is to provide quality education to children ages 1 to 5 years.
We focus on the whole child, providing a welcoming, safe and nurturing environment that our children and families feel comfortable to learn in.

Our professionally trained and qualified staff guide children in their learning. We believe in letting the child create their own curriculum, based on the interests of the class and their environment.

We also believe that parents and carers have the most influence in a child’s life, viewing them as our partners in the education of their children. At Bracebridge Heath Pre-School and Nursery, we believe in the importance of community. Our surrounding community is a wonderful resource for learning. As well as getting out to explore, we invite local people in to share skills and experiences with the children.
About Us
Bracebridge Heath Pre-school has been established as a registered charity in the village for over 30 years. In 2021 we moved to our new home in the former Bracebridge Heath Police Station. We are Ofsted Registered and in our 2015 inspection report we were OUTSTANDING in all areas. Our re-registration for our new premisses, we were awarded GOOD in all areas. (July 2023)
Inside we have spacious rooms. Our Preschool room (over 3 years) is equipped with age appropriate toys and activities including the home corner, messy play and construction area. A separate quiet room provides quiet, cosy space for the children to enjoy books. Our ICT area provides children with a wide range of educational games and problem solving puzzles. (this is not connected to the internet) Our nursery room (1 year - 3 years) is also equipped with age appropriate toys and resources for our younger children, including a home corner, shape sorting toys , sensory toys, messy play and a cosy den for quiet time.
We have a smaller room for the children to sleep safely, which can be used as a calming sensory room too.
Our newly refurbished outdoor classroom can be used by any groups of children providing an open, bright environment set up to explore and learn.
We are very proud of our fully-enclosed outside space. Here, the children have the opportunity to explore and express themselves in a safe and stimulating environment within different areas our children can play and explore with children of similar age. Our nursery children have a separate enclosed space with toys and resources suitable for their needs, smaller climbing equipment, ride on toys and sand pit, plus many more. Our Preschool children can ride bikes, have fun in the playhouse, as well as develop more physical skills on their fantastic fort. The children also have their own vegetable garden where they enjoy planting and eating the produce. Our sensory Garden allows children to explore the natural world and the water feature, which attracts wild life.
Children attending afternoon sessions bring a healthy packed lunch. Eating together provides learning opportunities such as social development and also helps children prepare for the lunch time experience at primary school.
