Dear Parents/ Carers,
Welcome back to pre-school. We hope you all had an enjoyable Easter break.
Many thanks to all those who attended our Easter themed “stay and play” session, which we held on Friday 31st march. We hope you all enjoyed the activities which were on offer, and we hope you agree, that it was a brilliant way of building family/setting relations. It was especially lovely that the visitors we had, joined in our group singing session near the end, and thank you for getting involved and making it enjoyable for all. The money that we raised from the activities at the session, will go towards providing resources for the children. We raised a total of £70.00 so many thanks for your contributions.
Tempest will be at our setting on Wednesday 26th April. If your child does not attend a session with us that day, and you wish them to have photos taken, then you are welcome to bring your child in. We ask that you please be patient, as we will have parents/carers waiting for their sitting, and also the children that attend a preschool session that day.
During this term, we will be inviting parents/carers to join us at “key group” sessions. Your child’s keyperson will approach you about whether you wish to join us- but also if you would like to attend a particular session, please speak to your child’s keyperson. At these sessions, we participate in activities that are relevant to our children’s next steps, and interest’s.
Please do not forget to name all items of clothing and any other belongings that your child may bring in to pre-school, including some toys for show and tell, especially if they the item is a popular character etc. Preschool cannot be held liable for any personal items. As the weather is turning warmer, please ensure your child has skin protection as necessary. Please apply this to your child prior to coming into setting. If you wish it to reapplied whilst your child is in our care, e.g. if your child stays all day. Please bring sun product in (named please).Could parents/carers also provide a hat as the sun gets stronger. We ask that parent/carers please continue to bring in donations for snack- this ensures we keep costs down, and funds are used for resources for the children.
Please remember that children’s lunch boxes should contain only healthy foods. The reason for this guidance is in accordance with the government’s healthy eating plan and school’s request for no sweets in lunch boxes.
This term we will be following the children’s interests, next steps, and festivals and celebrations which include: St George’s day- 23rd April, and father’s day- 18th June. If there are any events special to you that you would like us to include, please speak to any of the staff. We will also continue with key group, next step activities, and library visits. If you would like any information on these, please feel free to approach any of us.
Please remember to check our outdoor and indoor notice boards, website and Facebook page for information, and please do not hesitate to ask staff for information.
We love to have your feedback and comments on out “Tapestry” learning journal, so please continue. Also it is lovely wen parents/carers upload activities which you have done out of setting- we find those a valuable source of information for the children’s learning.
Transitions for school leavers- We are awaiting confirmation from st Johns academy as to when these will start, we will let parents/carers know. If your child will attend a different school, please let us know as soon as possible so we can contact the relevant school. Transitions allow the children to get an experience of the school environment, hopefully making the changes in setting easier for them. If you need to change sessions for your child to attend transition visits, we will accommodate you best we can. We will also approach you if we feel your child will need to change session to enable them to visit school.
