Autumn Term Update 2016

Welcome back to everyone, hope you all had an enjoyable half term break. As well as following our children’s interests, this term our activities will follow the themes of the Autumnal season, and Christmas festivities.

Now the weather is turning colder/wetter, please ensure your child attends preschool in adequate clothing. We do have wet weather clothes and wellies in setting, but please provide your child with named hats, gloves, scarves etc. Should you wish your child to come in their own boots/shoes, please provide a change of footwear e.g. trainers or plimsolls. Please bear in mind our storage is limited, and it would be useful if you please provide a peg with your child’s boots. Also please remember to name items, thank you. We continue to welcome donations for snack; these can be: fresh fruit/vegetables, savoury crackers, cheese etc.

Upcoming Events;

Dress up days 1st and 2nd December

Children can come dressed up on these dates, this can be festive dress or any theme your child wishes. We ask that you please bring a tombola/ raffle prize (or both) these items will be used at the Christmas fayre. We appreciate all donations, and this allows our funds to be spent on resources for the children.

Party day, and Christmas Fayre afternoon, 12th December

All children are welcome to join us for our Christmas party (whether they normally attend a Monday session or not), which will be held on the morning of Monday 12th December (9.05-12.05pm). We ask that parents/carers provide contributions of party food- information and a list for this will be put out nearer to the party date. The time of the party will be normal morning session i.e. 9.05-12.05. Children can come dressed in party clothes as you wish. We will have party games, and entertainment for the children.

At 12.05 (straight after the party), we will be having our Christmas Fayre. It would be lovely to see you all, please bring friends/ family with you as you wish. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at this time, children cannot be left at the Christmas fayre unaccompanied. If you are not staying for the fayre, your child must be collected at 12.05pm, thank you.

There will be cakes/biscuits, stalls and games, and of course a visit from Santa- so please support us at this event. Monies raised from events like these allow us to maintain resources, purchase new ones, and support us to continue our “outstanding” Practice.

Christmas Songs 20th December

This will be our last day of the term, all children are invited to attend. It will be held at St Johns church, which is situated between the Silver sounds club and Eden beauty salon (any queries about this, please ask staff). We will provide the children with a costume to wear (further information about this will be put on our info board nearer the time).  We ask that you bring your child to preschool at 9.05. This day is not a normal session. We ask that you then meet us at the church at 11am for the children’s performance. When the performance has finished, the preschool staff will accompany all the children back to the setting. We do this to ensure that all children are collected safely, we ask that you please do not collect your child from the church as this can cause confusion, the children’s safety is paramount. There will be no afternoon session on this day.

If you have any queries about the events, please do not hesitate to ask staff, we will do our best to help. We will keep you up to date with information and any possible changes, and of course please check our website, Facebook, and information boards.

We wish you all have a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Preschool will recommence on Wednesday 4th January 2017.
